Zabit Magomedsharipov – Russian mixed martial arts fighter. Born on March 1, 1991 in Khasavyurt, Republic of Dagestan, Russia.

From childhood Zabit loved and participated in many sports, including football, kickboxing, and, of course, freestyle wrestling.

At the age of 12 athlete joined the boarding school “Pyat Storon Sveta” that specializes in Eastern fighting styles and techniques. In this school Zabit have chosen wushu-sanda as his main fighting style. Taking into account the fact that in “Pyat Storon Sveta” students live, study and train three times a day, and also the fact that students had examples of incredible alumnis and multiple time wushu-sanda champions of Russia, Europe and World – Bozigit Ataev, Dzhanhuvat Beletov, Muslim Salihov – it’s no surprise that many of school’s graduate have achieved incredible success in the sport. Zabit Magomedsharipov is another great example. He already became wushu-sanda champion of Russia, Europe, and the world.

In addition to wushu-sanda in his amateur career Zabit have fought in other disciplines too: combat sambo, hand-to-hand combat, and complex fighting.

Zabit Magomedsharipov decided to try MMA in 2012 after winning the European Wushu-Sanda Championship.

On 9th of May, 2012 he debuted in the OGC tournament in Odessa, Ukraine. His opponent was Zhumageldi Zhetpisbaev of Kazakhstan. It took Zabit just 3 and a half minutes to knock out his opponent.

Magomedsharipov was spotted by scouts from PROFC. In this promotion the athlete participated in 3 fights, in which he had two wins and one defeat by submission from Igor Egorov in 3rd round.

In 2013 Zabit was fighting for Fight Nights (win against Sergey Sokolov) and Oplot promotion (decision win against Sarmat Hodov).

In 2014 Magomedsharipov joined Chechen promotion ACB and that paid off. It was this organization that made it possible for Zabit to climb the world rankings and get noticed by UFC.

In ACB no one could match Zabit strength. In this organization Zabit had 6 fights, all were won by knockouts or submissions. Zabit also won ACB featherweight Gran-pri and became the featherweight champion. The last fight in this organization was held on September 17th, 2016 in which he defended his title with a win by TKO in first round against brazilian Valdines Silva.

In May 2017 Magomedsharipov signed a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

As Zabit frequently mentions in his interviews, it is in this club that he became a true professional martial artist. Without the intelligent coaching of Mansur Uchakaev and the financial support from “Dagestan Fighter” it would’ve been impossible to reach the level Zabit is on today.
